Recruitment Promotional Video

August 18, 2008

The Madison Heights Police Explorer Post has begun the recruiting efforts for the 2008 fall season.   A promotional video is being produced and should be ready and posted to this website sometime in early September.  The upcoming video will cover all aspects of the post including training, seminars, ride alongs, dispatch and other activities.

Those interested in joining the police explorer post can hit on the “Join” link above on this page and follow the directions for a “Pre-Application” for Membership.  The Open House Recruitment Meeting has been scheduled for Monday, September 29, 2008 at 7pm at the Madison Heights Public Library (13 Mile just west of John R, in the Municipal Complex).  Those wanting to become a member should attend on this date as it is the first step into membership into the police explorer post.

MHPDE vs Macomb County Sheriffs Explorers

August 12, 2008

This past weekend, the Madison Heights Police Explorers played a game of baseball with our new friends at the Macomb County Sheriffs Explorers.  Each post was allowed 10 total players including two advisors from each post.  In a fun and exciting game, the MHPDE took an early lead.  The Macomb County Sheriff Explorers steadily caught up.  In the bottom of the 9th, MHPD Explorer Adam Mazur-Baker single handedly made a triple play to end the game with a final score of 17-11.  Both posts had a great time and are planning a future game!  We’d like to thank our friends at the Macomb County Explorers for organizing and setting up this fun event.  We’d also like to thank our own Mike Perez for working with the sheriffs explorers to set up the event and for being a great coach for the MHPDE!

After the game, the MHPDE members celebrated and went back to advisor Scott Bennis & Brianne Bierkamp’s house for a BBQ and pool party.  While we managed to keep everyone alive from drowning a great time was had!
